Change Is In The Air

By now all of you should have noticed the new look of our newsletter ESI News Brief.  It sports more articles dealing with fluid piping systems and the PIPE-FLO program.  We recently hired Delcina Betts as our Director of Marketing; she has been very busy since her arrival and the new ESI News Brief is the initial results of her excellent work.  The new format has a cleaner look which provides a single page format with links to the articles in more detail.
The newsletter is not the only thing that has changed.  Approximately 300 to 400 people a day venture to our Knowledge Base to discover further information regarding fluid piping systems, and how to use our PIPE-FLO programs in a variety of applications.  We recently completed a major change to the Knowledge Base search engine providing better and more relevant search results.   Not only does the new Knowledge Base make it easier for our customers to search, it is easier for our technical support staff to add new Knowledge Base articles.
One of our newest articles is Ask an Engineer Column; here we provide greater detail on specific aspects of items typically found in fluid piping systems.  This information comes from questions asked of our support staff, as well as our instructors in the FLO-Master, and Piping System Fundamentals courses. In addition, PIPE-FLO specific articles are now included so you can review Case Studies performed with the PIPE-FLO program along with more detailed PIPE-FLO program features.
We at Engineered Software strive to give back to the community.  This month many of our employees participated in the United Way day of Caring.  We are also involved in a major Capital Construction Campaign at Saint Martin’s University that will add a new engineering lab.  Saint Martin’s has excellent programs in computer science, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering.  Many of our employees are St. Martin’s graduates and we feel it is a good investment to give back to the school so they can continue to provide skilled and talented graduates.
We haven’t forgotten the lighter side of engineering, for those of you who like crossword puzzles we have a puzzle full of words and phrases found in fluid piping systems such as a thirteen letter word for “a device that facilitates heat transfer between two fluids”.
It has been a very busy month for me. I was at a Hydraulic Institute meeting for a week of meetings, along with performing the final review of an upcoming ISO 144414 standard for Assessments of Pumped Systems scheduled for release next year.
Finally we are currently working on a new Website, developing new products, and adding additional features to our existing programs.  Keep reading the newsletter cause “Things they are a changing”.
